The Best October Day For A Perth Wedding

photos perthAfter a wintry start to October, the 26th was definitely the best day of the month for a Perth wedding, – I’m sure Jacinta and Ben would agree! We were within walking distance to Ben’s parent’s home where he’d spent the night (leaving his home free for Jacinta and the girls to get ready). The guys were looking chilled having enjoyed breakfast and were outside playing a game of bocci. Ben was a bit of a Daniel Craig, James Bond by the time he’d transformed himself in the amazing suit from Myer. In contrast when we arrived at where the girls were getting ready it was a hive of activity. Hair dresser, makeup artist, and women in various states of “being ready”. Jacinta’s dad and nunno were taking it quietly sitting away from the hustle and bustle. The flowers from Matthew Landers Florist in Vic Park soon arrived and Jacinta was in her gown and ready for some beautiful bridal portraits.

Saint Brigids in North Perth which is not far off being a century old, was Jacinta and Ben’s choice for their wedding ceremony because of the architecture. The ceremony was conducted by Fr Michael McMahon, Jacinta’s family priest. In keeping with the age of the church Jacinta arrived in a Thirties Limo. After the ceremony, family photos were taken around the church then the family also joined the bridal party for photos near Kings Park. We arrived at the Western Australian Maritime Museum in time for Jacinta to change into her second wedding gown, before capturing the beautiful sunset on the decking of the museum. It was fabulous out on the decking with the sun going down behind wispy clouds, and looking out over the activity of Fremantle harbour. A magic finish to the photo session.

The pace of the day really picked up once the reception got started. Platinum Dj’s had the guests up on the dance floor ready to cheer Ben and Jacinta and their bridal party into the reception. Ben and Jacinta entered to Bruno Mars – Marry You and got straight into the dancing, – a great way to start the night. The room looked fabulous it had been styled mainly by Ben and Jacinta. They decided on the look they wanted and hired items from a number of suppliers. The back drop behind the bridal table and chair covers were supplied by Flamingo Surprise. Ben and Jacinta collected the table arrangements and made the name tags and menus. Table flowers were arranged by  Matthew Landers and the wedding favours were a bottle of champagne.

One of the really nice things about this venue is the fabulous out door area where guests not only have predinner drinks but can also mingle during the evening. To make the area comfy for guests Ben and Jacinta furnished the area with sofas and coffee tables from Ikea. Ben put it all together then delivered it to the venue. They now plan to sell it on Gum Tree, what a great idea! The speeches were emotional, funny and entertaining, Jacinta and Ben did a fabulous bridal waltz and after hugging and kissing all the guests left for a relaxing honeymoon in Bali.
